Mikelle is definitely one of those kids who never liked a pacifier, but will not go to sleep with out the aide of her thumb! Secretly..... I really love it! haha We are sadly thinking we should try to break her of it soon and I am not looking forward to that. She is so good with it, its to bad that society might think its a bad thing plus I dont want her to end up with crazy thumbs(Mel and Kara :) or crazy teeth. So any pointers on how to break the habit would be great! Lately she is also one of those kids who wont go to sleep with out mom or dad holding her and I was up to 3 am this morning trying to break her of that one before I finally gave up! haha
So here I am this afternoon trying to put us both down for a nap (I have to work tonight) and she was singing a lullaby with me and back to me and it was soooo cute, she is such a little sweet heart! I had my camera close by (YAE!) so I recorded her singing this it is really adorable, sorry you have to hear me in there but she wouldnt do it on her own. The other is a really cute pic of her and her daddy falling asleep the other night! See ya later

Honestly Teresa it is ok that she sucks her thumb still. She is what 2? It will be heck to try and break her of it. And honestly she will stop when she wants to. I was 5 I think when I stopped but I only sucked my thumb to get me to sleep. My mom did everything she could think of to get me to stop and it never worked. She finally gave up. She said she would even go into my room at night and when I was asleep she would pull my thumb out of my mouth:)and I dont have weird thumbs:) Brayton still has a binki and he is almost 3. He just has it for naps and bedtime. This is just my opinion so please dont be offeneded but why take something away from them that makes them feel safe and comforts them? I heard on a talk show someone said have you ever seen someone graduate or walk down the isle(getting married) with their thumb in their mouth or a binki? NO. So leave the kid alone. And I thought to myself how so very true!!! Sorry this is so long but that is just my opinion. P.S. she is absolutely beautiful!!!
She is so cute! Sounds like she is going to take after her mamma's beautiful voice! :) Her singing was so sweet.
Oh my gosh, that video of you and her singing is so beautiful. That was by far the cutest thing I have seen today.
I love this post...your little Ruby Mikelle is so sweet. You still sing like an angel and Miss Mikelle sounds like she's going to get her mom's good singing genes. Let her suck her thumb...good grief she's so little and cute and let's be honest my thumbs were probably going to be short little fat thumbs from birth regardless of if I sucked them or not. :) Love you sis!!!
hey teresa! it's ashley.. i was checking out everyone's blogs, just checking up on everyone.. i don't get on these blogs too often.. i need to, though! i need to just make one of my own, but i never sit down to do it.. how is everything? i see you're staying busy! i don't see how you do it.. i work two jobs, but i still don't work as many hours as you do! everything is good here.. we just stay busy with the usual stuff, you know, plan ol' life.. well, i'll stop rambling.. hope you and your family are doing well! i'll check back soon..

Oh, you poor thing.It took my mom 6years to break me of that habit, and let me tell you it's hard.I used to wake up every morning and cry when I realized that I had once again sucked my thumb!I tried tape, nasty tasting stuff, you name it we tried it, but eventually I just stopped.It will happen, don't worry too much.Plus, it's so stinkin' cute!
What a little sweetie! I have to say that I was a thumb suck as well and I don't think my thumbs are messed up.? anyways we have in cali for almost two months now, but we are super close to disneyland(30 miles) so let me knoe if you ever come.
Okay Tree, you totally suck! You have the most beautiful voice. I try to sing to my boys and all Dra says to me is "momma no singing,no singing momma." Thank goodness Seth doesn't have a say so yet. Hehe j/k Any way we need to get together soon.
Take it from me...a mother of 3 thumb sucking children....don't worry about it! I had to tell Macy 2 maybe 3 times that the children in her preschool class might think she looks like a baby sucking her thumb and that was that- she was done and she was a die hard addict. I think mothers of thumb suckers are completely spoiled....no dirty or lost binkis. And seriously how many people do you know that needed braces that never sucked their thumb? Lots. No worries about your little Mikele...it will come. She is so beautiful by the way.
